I have been increasingly getting requests for "pasta bowls" over the last decade. A couple of years ago I decided to settle on proportions and contours to offer on my display. This has become the most popular size, about 8" by 2".
I generally find that once I settle on a design and a size, the first hundred I throw show me what to expect as I proceed through the first thousand. Usually, by my first thousand, I have a good grip on most of the nuances.
I have thrown about 400 of these so far. I throw them in infinitely varied heights, widths, and depths, according to customers' preferences, but this is the basic pasta bowl version which has become the most popular.
