While I get closer to fresh inventory, here is a selection from before March 19. I am adding a first few pieces, while I explore the various tools.
"This week's work" is where I apply my greatest website energy. Each week, I offer photos of everything underway, and then I follow up with photos of the finished work.
When I add the new page every Friday morning by about 10:00 am, I move the previous week's page into "Previous week's work" (see the drop-down menu above). These weekly entries recount several months of my pottery efforts.
In "Clay", I explore various aspects of my favorite stuff, and why it is so utterly fascinating! There are 3 pages in this section, starting with "What clay is," where I explain how clay is formed geologically, and what makes it so incredible. "What is clay to me?" is where I wax poetic about this miraculous substance. "Raw Materials, My Source" is an exploration of the district in Sacramento where I acquire my clay. I visit the surrounding environment, culminating with a tour of Industrial Minerals Company, which has been my supplier since 1981.
"Weekend mornings set up" offers slideshows of Geri and me arranging the pottery on the display, which captures the flavor of the market in the early morning. It offers a perspective of our work, and how we interpret it for the public.
