in the last couple of weeks we have made a lot of progress setting up the temporary workshop in the pump house, and I have begun throwing for my first porcelain firing in my small, operational raku kiln. I have built a drying rack in the pump house, and have started filling it up with small mugs and vases. In a week or so I will have finished throwing the first few dozen porcelain pieces since the fire. I will begin mixing fresh batches of glaze, and replacing the glazing and firing equipment lost in the fire. I hope to have this first batch of fresh pottery finished around the end of November.
We have cleared most of the burned debris from the site where the new studio will be located, and I have begun cutting up the steel frames of the 2 travel trailers with my new cutting torch.
We visited Lake Tahoe last week, and got some photos as the fog was breaking late in the day. I have never seen a colorless rainbow before this; it was really quite lovely.
