In March and April we have been gearing up for more robust pottery making, for the transition back to my profession full-time. Among new prototypes is this first attempt at a Gecko. After I see this piece fired and glazed, I will see how to proceed with development. I will show a photo of this piece finished in a week or so.
Another new product is a "Bacon roaster," which is now in its second generation (see the slideshow below). This piece was requested by a Santa Rosa customer in late 2023. It is intended for oven use, with drainage for the drippings. I am including a copy of the tattered magazine clipping I am using as an example. The functionality is apparent in my photos below.
This time around, I am working on nesting heart shaped bowl sets, old fasioned wide bottomed travel mugs, dragon steins, soup mugs, 12" serving bowls, ramen bowls, pasta bowls, coffee pour-over cones, 2 quart vases, still more Sunderland Frog mugs, nesting square bowl sets, and a big batch of pearl bowls (experiments in form and color). You will see many other fresh pieces below, en route to Mothers' Day Weekend at the Santa Rosa Original Farmers' Market at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts on May 11, and at the Sebastopol Farmers' Market on May 12 (Mothers' Day). For times and directions, please see my Market Schedule (Click Here).
Please see below for a few highlights of finished pottery from the last few days. We'll see you this Saturday and Sunday in Sonoma County,
